Kaanapali has four new dining spots coming up for guests to enjoy. Located at the recently reopened Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kaʻanapali, guests will notice Hale Moʻolelo, Mahele Market, Hale ʻA and beachfront and brand new waicoco (yes, waicoco is not capitalized) have been added to the options.
After completing a $120 million rejuvenation, The Westin aims to entice visitors and locals with Maui-grown produce, locally inspired dishes and Valley Isle influenced cocktails. “We can’t wait to welcome guests back to our newly renovated resort,” said Gregg Lundberg, general manager of The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kaʻanapali. “The changes that have taken place are truly spectacular, and I know our guests will appreciate the elevated experience our resort offers and the fact that no detail – from our superior culinary offerings to our unmatched arrival experience – has been overlooked.”
Brand new signature restaurant waicoco is spearheaded by multi-award-winning Chef Chris Kajioka, who’s primary residence is on Oahu, but he travels to Kaanapali weekly to manage and maintain the new restaurant. The James Beard Foundation award nominee aims to source locally when possible and credits the talent of Maui chefs and cooks with the ability to create unique, mouthwatering and delicious dishes for guests to enjoy. Kajioka says this restaurant’s location makes it very special being moments away from the ocean and thus aims to create dishes that pay homage to local favorites while servicing seafood specialties.
Hale Mo’olelo is an artisanal bar and restaurant inspired by Hawaiian storytelling… It is because of the inspiration and decor it is hoped people will talk story and perpetuate the Hawaii culture and values. Mahele Market (not yet open) is a convenient grab ‘n go eatery that is perfect for the guest who seeks to grab a bite for breakfast, lunch or dinner and eat on the go or at the beach. Meanwhile, Hale ‘A is a pool bar offering specialty craft cocktails along with appetizers and other noms to enjoy while watching the sunset.
