MFD Responds to Two Sunday Fires

The Maui Fire Department responded to two fires on Sunday.

A brush fire within the Kula Ag Park broke out just before 12:30 p.m. Crews had the flames under control by 6:34 p.m. and completely extinguished at 6:44 a.m. on Monday.

Fire officials say the blaze damaged crops, farm equipment, and a container onthe property. No injuries were reported.

An estimated dollar value has not been assigned to the damage and the cause of the fire has not been determined.

A vehicle fire called MFD crews to an area of Piihana Farms in Wailuku at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday. The fire was out by 5:30 p.m. No additional details were immediately available.
