Kihei Man Arrested for Travel Quarantine Violation

The Maui Police Department has arrested a 66-year-old Kihei man for Violation of the Rules and Orders of Travel Quarantine.

Steven Wright was arrested on Saturday after police received a tip via the [email protected] portal relaying that Wright was violating his quarantine. One of the reporters suggested that Wright was seen in the Kihei area on Friday.

Wright reportedly arrived on Maui from Oahu and did not have a negative pre-travel COVID-19 test and was subject to quarantine until Thursday, December 24.

Investigators located Wright near his residence, where he was arrested and transported to the Wailuku Station for processing without incident.

Wright posted bail which was set at $2,000.
