On October 11, 2020 at about 11:53 p.m., Steven Martinez (69) of Waiehu, was arrested for Assault in the Second Degree.
Investigation reveals that on October 11, 2020 at about 10:58 p.m., Wailuku Patrol Officers were assigned emergency response to a Waiehu residence regarding stabbing. Upon arrival the male victim related, he and Martinez, a neighbor, engaged in an argument. Allegedly a physical altercation ensued and the victim sustained a puncture wound from an unknown object. The male victim was later treated at the Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Per the Emergency Room Doctor’s Report, the injuries would require surgery. The classification was upgraded to Assault in the First Degree and Martinez was formally charged. His bail was set at $5,000.00.
