Molokai Brush Fire Burns 40 Acres

The Maui County Fire Department responded to a brush fire in Ho`olehua, Molokai on Sunday.

Crews arrived shortly after 11:30 a.m. to find a blaze that grew to about 40 acres.

Several individuals who live in the area where advised on the fire but no one was displaced and no structures were impacted, according to officials.

MFD had the situation under control by 12:35 p.m., but crews will continue to mop up and monitor throughout the night.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
