Wailea Luxury Duplex Fire Causes $1.75M in Damages

A fire caused $1.75 million in structural damages to a Wailea luxury duplex on Friday.

Maui Fire Department officials report that units arrived on the scene shortly before midnight to find the single-story, 4,300 square foot condo unit in flames.

The fire was under control by 12:50 a.m. and was deemed fully extinguished by 1:35 p.m.

A vehicle on fire in an attached carport was also extinguished.

MFD says the cause of the fire is undetermined but there is no indication that it was intentionally set.
