First COVID-19 Case Confirmed on Molokai

Mayor Michael Victorino confirmed via a press statement that the island of Molokai has its first confirmed COVID-19 case.

“The County of Maui has been notified that a test result for a Molokai resident has returned positive,” Mayor Victorino said. “The adult male had possible travel history and is currently hospitalized on Oahu. The Hawaii Department of Health is currently investigating the matter and any close contacts made by the individual.”

The State Department of Health has this case under investigation.

State Representative Lynn Decoite (Molokai-Lanai-East Maui) hosted a Facebook live video with additional information for island residents.
