Police Searching for Man Wanted in Kahului Assault

Maui Police Department Wailuku Patrol Officers were assigned to 7-11 at 111 Alamaha Street in Kahului at 8:44 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered that a 42-year-old adult male had been stabbed in the stomach.

The offender and the victim were reported to have been arguing with each other inside the store just before the stabbing. 

The offender fled in a white pickup truck bearing Hawai`i license plate, MNA 772.  Follow-up investigations including a review of video surveillance footage identified the offender as Jose Angel Lozoya-Garcia.

Lozoya-Garcia is described as being 34-years-old, 5-feet-8-inches tall, and weighing approximately 240 pounds.  He has Brown hair and Green eyes.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating this individual.  Do not approach Lozoya-Garcia as he is considered armed and dangerous.  The investigation is on-going.
