Sheriffs Search for Pre-Trial Felon who Failed to Return from Court-Ordered Temporary Release

Sheriffs on Maui are searching for pre-trial felon Richard Kealoha-Kaauwai. Kealoha-Kaauwai was issued a court-ordered temporary, 3-day release to attend to a personal matter. As ordered, he was released from Maui Community Correctional Center on Friday, October 4 and was scheduled to report back to MCCC on Monday, October 7 at 5 p.m. 

The Maui Police Department and State Sheriffs were notified Monday of his failure to return.

Kealoha-Kaauwai, 27, is 5-feet-6-inches and weighs 145 pounds.  He has brown eyes and hair.  He is awaiting trial for Abuse of a Family/Household Member and Promoting a Dangerous Drug 3.
