Man Faces Injury After Water Accident at DT Fleming Beach

Maui Fire Department Ocean Safety Personnel pulled a 59-year-old man from the water at DT Fleming Beach on Wednesday after he was reportedly seen going “over the falls” in the shore break.

Fire officials say the man was found face down.

Upon assessment, the victim exhibited symptoms of spinal injury but was reportedly alert and oriented once onshore.

The man, a visitor from Colorado, was treated and transported by ambulance to Napili Park where he was then flown to Maui Memorial Medical Center in serious condition.
