The National Weather Service has continued the High Surf Advisory for south-facing shores of Maui County in effect until 6 p.m. on Friday.
Surf is anticipated to be 5 to 9 feet along south facing shores of all islands.
Forecast surf heights are estimates of the height of the face or front of waves.
The public should expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution. Boaters should expect recreational surfers and bodyboarders utilizing harbor channels to access surfing areas.
