Family Displaced After Fire Burns Hakina Place Home

The Maui Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Hakina Place on Thursday evening.

Firefighters arrived on the scene just before 7:30 p.m. and conducted a fire attack to extinguish the blaze. It was deemed out by 11:53 p.m.

The Red Cross is aiding the eight people living in the dwelling were displaced by the fire. No human injuries were reported, however, a family dog succumbed to the blaze, per officials.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
