MFD Reports Apparent Drowning at Big Beach

Maui Fire Department’s Engine 14 responded to a report of a drowning at Big Beach, Makena on July 3, 2019.

Rescue personnel responded to the scene at 7:21 p.m. to find a reported 65-year-old male from China unresponsive and having no pulse.

CPR was performed by MFD personnel on the beach.

High Surf conditions were observed and could have been a contributing factor to this incident.
