MAYORWatch: Is There an Estimated Reopening for Keokea Park?

Mayor Michael Victorino answers weekly questions submitted to his office staff.

Question: The playground at Keokea Park is currently fenced-off. Any estimates as to when the play structure will reopen?

Answer: Thank you for your question and interest in our county parks.

Our Department of Parks and Recreation notified my staff that surfacing of the playground requires repair work, which has already been awarded to a contractor. A small crew is expected to begin on-site preparation work early next week with resurfacing to be conducted later in the week by a larger crew.

We plan to reopen the playground by May 31.

For more information, please call the Department of Parks and Recreation at 270-7230 or click here.
