Hawaii lawmakers push bill that would shine a light on police misconduct

House bill 285 would require county police departments to reveal the identity of a suspended or discharged officer in its annual reports.

Right now, the reports only outline misconduct, discipline and whether a grievance procedure has ended.

The State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers has filed testimony in opposition of the bill.
