Maui Electric Night Work to Require Kahului Closure

Maui Electric will be conducting upgrades to electrical equipment that will require a road closure at Alamaha Street and Wakea Avenue in Kahului, including the right and left turn lanes from Alamaha onto Wakea, on Thursday, December 6, from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.

The work consists of upgrading a utility pole along Wakea Ave. and restringing power lines in the area.

For safety reasons, Maui Electric reports that the Alamaha Street lanes onto Wakea Avenue must be closed to traffic while crews safely work as quickly as possible to complete the upgrades. Traffic control will be on site and should an emergency arise, emergency vehicles will continue to have access to the area.

Electrical service in this immediate area is not expected be impacted.

Anyone with questions about the project, should call 871-7777 and when prompted press 1.
