An unresponsive male was pulled from waters off of Wailea Beach fronting the Four Seasons Resort on Wednesday morning.
Maui Fire Department emergency responders arrived at the scene at 11:45 a.m., where they found a police officer, resort beach attendants, and a vacationing physician performing CPR on the male victim.
Crews continued advanced life-saving measures until the man was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.
The male victim is a 58-year-old visitor from North Carolina. He was reportedly found floating unresponsive offshore on the south end of the beach and was brought to shore by beachgoers.
