Anthony Goodrich / MAUIWatch

On Monday, October 3, 2016 a male operating an unmarked silver four-door sedan in the Pukalani area attempted to pull over a vehicle being operated by a female. The male had a flashing blue and white light on his dashboard. The female didn’t feel safe and called the police while she kept driving. When the officer arrived, the male took off in his vehicle. Police are investigating the incident.

If you encounter a similar situation and are unsure, drive to a well-lit or public area where there are other people before stopping. Try to get a license plate number and any identifying details of the vehicle and the operator. If the officer is not in uniform, ask for official police identification or call 911 to verify the stop.
