Unresponsive man pulled from the ocean near Black Rock

On Friday, 11/06/15, at 4:33 p.m., firefighters were called to the beach fronting the Sheraton Maui Resort in West Maui, for an unresponsive person pulled from the ocean.

Lahaina firefighters arrived at 4:39 p.m. and found bystanders performing CPR on a male victim. Beachgoers pulled the victim ashore after finding the man unresponsive in the water about 75 feet from shore.

Emergency responders continued life-saving measures. Paramedics transported the man to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

The man is a 60-year-old visitor from East Bonney Lake, Washington. His condition is unavailable.
