UPDATE: Police locate Paula Kahue-Miranda

UPDATE 6/24/15 @ 2:35 p.m.: Escapee Paula J. Kahue-Miranda has been apprehended. Maui Police Department would like to thank everyone for their assistance.

In cooperation with the Honolulu Police Department, Maui Police Department is requesting assistance in locating Paula Kahue-Miranda (18), of Wailuku, for Escape in the Second Degree.

On May 7, 2015 at about 10:30 a.m., Kahue-Miranda left the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility, in Kailua, Oahu on an approved day pass. She failed to return back to the facility by 5:30 p.m. that same day, violating the terms and conditions of the day pass.

Kahue-Miranda is believed to have traveled back to Maui. She is known to frequent the Wailuku area.

Kahue-Miranda is described as an adult female, 5’4”, 125 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maui Police Department Non-Emergency number at 808-244-6400, 911 if it is an emergency or Officer Rusty Iokia Maui Police Department Juvenile Division at 808-630-9729.
