June 1 - June 2$50 - $100
What if you could raise pigs without flies or smell?
The Korean Natural Farming (KNF) method has been tested and proven. You can raise even 1,000 pigs without smell and without flies! More than 80 subsistence and commercial piggeries on Hawaii Island and one large commercial pig farm on the Waianae side of Oahu are testaments to this fact.
The Hawaii Farmers Union Foundation (HFUF) and UH-Maui College’s Sustainable Living Institute of Maui (SLIM) will co-sponsor a workshop with Hawaii’s expert on Korean Natural Farming for livestock, Michael Duponte. As the Hawaii County Livestock Extension Agent, Michael Duponte was certified under Korea’s KNF Master Cho to teach others how to use Indigenous Micro-Organisms (IMOs) to inoculate the pig litter rendering it without smell or flies. This workshop will focus on getting the permitting for these piggeries and how to build the ideal structures.
We invite the public to come to UH-Maui College (Location TBD) on Thursday June 1st from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and on Friday June 2nd from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Price: $50 for Hawaii Farmers Union United (HFUU) members
$100 for non-members (includes 1 Year HFUU membership)
