Haleakalā to Offer Free Admission to Kick Off National Park Week

Entrance fees to Haleakalā National Park will be waived for the public on Saturday, April 20 at the start of National Park Week, which continues through April 28.

Also on April 20, National Junior Ranger Day will be celebrated with a special Volunteer-in-Parks program. Kids, along with family, and friends, can sign up as volunteers and join in a ‘ōpala (litter) pick up from 9:00 am-12 noon in the Summit District and 11:00 am-2:00 pm in the Kīpahulu District.   Kids will earn a Junior Ranger badge and certificate. Gloves, trash bags, and reflective vests will be provided upon check-in and a group Junior Ranger graduation will follow the ‘ōpala pick up events at the Summit Headquarters and Kīpahulu Visitor Centers.
