MFD Responds to Near Drowning in West Maui

Maui County Fire Department personnel responded to a near drowning incident on Sunday.

Responding to a 11:19 p.m. call, firefighters headed to Kapalua Bay in West
Maui were a 56-year-old female was pulled from the water by unknown witnesses.

According to MFD officials, the female was having difficulty breathing while snorkeling.

Firefighters from the Napili Fire Station arrived to find the victim breathing on shore and oriented.

As a precaution, the patient was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
