Vehicle Collides with 13-Year-Old in Molokai Crash

Maui Police Department officers responded to a motor vehicle collision just before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday near Farrington Avenue (480) near 260 Farrington Avenue in Kualapuu on Molokai.

Police say the collision occurred as a white 1996 Jeep Cherokee traveling west-bound on Farrington Avenue collided with a pedestrian walking in the same direction along the roadway.

The 27-year-old male operator of the Jeep and his female passenger, both from Hoolehua, were not injured.

The pedestrian, a 13-year-old female from Kualapuu, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Oahu for treatment.

The involvement of speed, drugs and alcohol are still pending as the investigation is on-going
