A Maui Police captain resigns following sexual assault accusations that he groped a fellow officer.
Stephen Orikasa, who served for 27 years turned in his gun and badge last Friday, but the allegations against him date back to June of 2017.
According to MPD officials, his alleged victim is a fellow officer in the police department.
Court documents say Orikasa is accused of having sexual contact with a female over the age of 20 without her consent.
He did plead not guilty to the sexual assault charges last November.
Orikasa’s change of plea hearing will take place the week of July 23rd.
