Honolua Bay Reopens Following ‘Shark Closure’

Access to the Honolua Bay Marine Life Conservation District on Maui  reopened on Monday morning after having been closed since June 26.

The closure had been prompted by the continued presence of sharks in the bay, apparently attracted to dead fish.

The bay has been continuously monitored ever since the closure began, according to Department of Land and Natural Resources officials.

On Monday morning, there was no sign of sharks in the bay. Access to the bay has been restored.
