Maui’s Second Kokua Puna Drive Gets Visit from Governor Ige

Donations poured in for the first day of Maui’s two-day hana hou Kokua Puna drive – the second drive in just a few weeks by the same group of community organizers who came together to ship a 20 ft. container of donated items to assist Puna evacuees. It even caught the attention of Governor Ige who was on Maui and stopped by with his own donations and words of appreciation for the volunteers.

Tomorrow, Sunday, will be the final day before the filled container gets shipped to the Big Island. Non-perishable food, bottled water, outdoor camping gear, pet food and pet supplies will be collected from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Kahului Shopping Center.
