Half-Acre Brush Fire in Lahaina

At 12:55 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters responded to a brush fire near the Lahaina Aquatic Center on Shaw Street.

Fire crews arrived at 1:02 p.m. to find a 200 foot section of brush burning in a vacant lot 50 feet from buildings at Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Center on Ipu Aumakua Lane.

Firefighters brought the fire under control at 1:12 p.m. and had it fully extinguished just after 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

There were no injuries and no structures were damaged.

The cause of the fire was undetermined and burned about a half-acre of brush.
