MPD Seeks Information in February 2018 Assault

Maui Police Department officials are requesting assistance in identifying a male involved in an assault incident at the Kihei Kalama Village (Triangle) at about 2 a.m. on Sunday February 4, 2018.

According to authorities, a group of tourists visiting from the mainland were near the Tattoo Shop area after leaving the Lava Rock Bar and Grill, asking about any “after parties.”

This group reportedly began arguing with a group of local males and three of the tourists were then assaulted.

The altercations spilled to the parking/driveway area near the center of the Kihei Kalama Village (fronting Tree’s Restaurant), one of the Tourists was punched several times by an unidentified male and fell to the ground.

Police say that the male sustained serious injuries as a result of this assault.

The male assailant is described as possibly between 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall and is approximately 190 to 240 pounds. He had very short hair and was wearing dark colored shorts and a light colored t-shirt at the time.

The unknown male was able leave prior to Police arrival by walking back into the Kihei Kalama Village property.
