Officials: NO Missile Alert for Hawaii

This morning, radios, phones, and televisions across the state indicated a missile threat to Hawaii. According to officials with the Civil Defense, it was a confirmed ERROR.
According to a release by Maui’s Emergency Management Agency:

While conducting a regular test of the Emergency Broadcast System, an error was made. There is no threat to Maui County from Ballistic Missiles at this time.

The warning did not originate from Maui County. The State Emergency Management Agency will likely have more information on this event later today.

This is the full text of the emergency alert that was mistakenly issued. Again, NO missiles have been launched.

At 8:46 AM, officials sent out a retracted, false alarm alert.

More details as they become available.
