We’ll have a windy start to the work week as trades remain at 15-30 mph statewide, with higher gusts possible.
The windy trades will bring in scattered showers, focused on windward and mauka areas. Leeward sides will also see some isolated showers to begin the day.
Leeward areas will be partly cloudy, while windward areas will be mostly cloudy with increasing showers as the day goes on. Afternoon high temperatures will reach the low 80s in some spots.
For Maui more moisture will move in, and thanks to a more unstable atmosphere, there will be the possibility of heavy rain this afternoon and tomorrow. A Flash Flood Watch is posted until Tuesday afternoon. Along with stronger showers, humidity levels will also increase.
