Male Pulled from the Ocean at Ulua Beach in Wailea

At 8:17 a.m., this morning, emergency responders in South Maui were called to Ulua Beach for a male pulled from the ocean fronting the Wailea Elua Village condominium.

At 8:20 a.m., Wailea firefighters found a male in his 50s or 60s on the beach with a vacationing firefighter from the mainland and other bystanders administering CPR on the victim. Paramedics arrived and continued advanced life-saving measures until the victim regained a pulse and was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

The victim was brought to shore in a canoe after the man was seen having a possible medical emergency while in the water. Information on the male victim was not available.
