Earlier this week, United Airlines has taken a good look at their policies for employees being able to bump passengers who paid for their seats prior to the employee being booked on the same flight. This was released in a report covered by other news media agencies.
Earlier today, we were in contact with United Airlines and received the following statement from their public information officer’s office:
“We issued an updated policy to make sure crews traveling on our aircraft are booked at least 60 minutes prior to departure. This ensures situations like flight 3411 never happen again. This is one of our initial steps in a review of our policies in order to deliver the best customer experience.
Our review continues and we will share the results and additional concrete actions we will take by April 30.” -United Airlines Public Information Officer
