Minnesota Visitor Pulled from Waters at Kapalua Bay

At 10:08 a.m. this morning, emergency crews in West Maui responded to Kapalua Bay for a female found unresponsive in the water.

Napili firefighters arrived at 10:14 a.m. and found that bystanders had already brought the woman to shore. Firefighters initiated CPR on the woman until paramedics arrived and provided advanced care life support, however, despite all life-saving efforts the woman could not be resuscitated and died at the scene.

The woman, a 72-year-old visitor from Little Canada, Minnesota, was snorkeling in the bay with another family member. She was found floating facedown about 50 years from shore.
