After 25 years in Hawaii, interior designer Karl Gottling has opened a new luxury home furnishing store in Wailea. The Maui-based European designer has been blessed to call Hawaii home for more than two-decades and uses his various inspirations from Asia, Polynesia, Europe and abroad to add to his island-inspired interior concepts.
Gottling has designed for five-star resorts, residences, restaurants on Maui and internationally and is also the owner of Buddah Imports located in Kihei. Opening GOTTLING Home Store at The Shops at Wailea on Valentine’s Day 2017 is a dream come true for the designer. He prepped 300 red roses to giveaway during the grand opening celebration in addition to a live hula show and other highlights.
“We are excited to welcome this unique store to The Shops at Wailea,” Brian Yano, General Manager for The Shops at Wailea said. “GOTTLING Home Store will have a prominent spot in the 3,500-square-foot showroom space in the luxury wing of The Shops.”
Known for his style incorporating beauty with modern highlights, Gottling focuses his designs on creating a total sensory experience. The home store will showcase rare and one-of-a kind furnishings, hand milled soaps, room fragrances and unique antiques.
“With all the new development happening around Wailea, this is an exciting time to be opening a luxury home furnishing store in Wailea. People want to see the pieces in person, get the scale, look at the materials and touch them and will now have the opportunity to do so in the heart of Wailea,” Karl Gottling said.
