After more than 2 years of cancer treatment, Maui three-year-old Trucker Dukes is enrolled in hospice care for pain management due to pain from Neuroblastoma.
“We have officially enrolled him in hospice to help with the pain,” said Trucker’s mom Shauna Dukes. “Please know that we are not giving up. We are still consulting with integrative medicine doctors, treating him at home, enjoying all the sweet moments we have together.”
Trucker became an honorary fire fighter with the New York City Fire Department in May of 2016. His fire fighter brother, Captain Jim Grismer, made a video requesting others to pray for Trucker and send photos of their toughest face for a social media challenge.
The Team Trucker Facebook page explains the challenge that has been taken by hundreds of people since last week.
“It’s called the #TruckerToughChallenge and all you have to do is make your best “tough face” and challenge three other friends. You would post a video or picture on FB, Instagram or Twitter and say this script and include it in the caption:
I’m doing the Trucker Tough Challenge to support Maui County Honorary Fire Fighter and cancer fighter Trucker Dukes. I challenge (tag at least 3 friends) to show off your best tough face. #TruckerToughChallenge #TruckerTough #TeamTrucker”
