Maui Team Wins Pinto League State Tournament

The Maui All-Stars “A” Team won the 2016 West Zone Baseball Pinto Hawaii Region Coach Pitch Championship on Tuesday, July 5, with a final score of 6-3 against the Mililani All-Stars “A” Team. The Maui “A” team went undefeated in the tournament, held at the Central Oahu Regional Park. The tournament ran from July 1 – 5, 2016 where 10 teams competed in the tournament from Kauai, Hilo, Central Oahu, Waianae, Kona and West Oahu for ages 7 and 8 years old. The Maui All-Stars “B” Team was eliminated on Monday afternoon.

Team Members include: Kamahao Akima, Brayden Nakamoto, Braeden Souza, Taydem Hashimoto, Caleb Imamura, Eli Nouchi, Koltyn Sergent, Tevyn Apo, Thunder Caulford, Blaze Kahale, Ethan Fillinger, Andrew Gosselin, Kaikanoa Kaahanui, Kaiwahawanawana Ho and Marley Sebastian. Coaches include Leroy Souza, Don Akima, Devin Fillinger and Kris Sergent.

This marks the end of the season for the teams – the Pinto league does not have any further competition.
