The Legacy of Steppenwolf Takes a Magic Carpet Ride Through Maui

The legend of Steppenwolf’s influence on the music business defined the 1960’s. Their first big hit, “Born To Be Wild” became part of the counterculture soundtrack of the day. The legacy of this band is hopping on their Harley’s and bringing its music to Maui. I spoke to lead guitarist, Glen Bui about his passion for this music and what led him to become part of this tribute. Glen is a musician with an impressive resume, he has played with the group Pegasus and has even toured with Gregg Allman. Glen remarked that he loves performing for an audience and can’t wait to perform for the people on Maui. This will be Glen’s first time on Maui and he is anticipating the island to be as beautiful as advertised.

Glen will be alongside a group of talented and legendary musicians. On keyboards and original Steppenwolf band member, Goldy McJohn, Mike Setzer on bass and vocals, Mark Mayberry on lead vocals, and Matt Seward on drums. These musicians combined have performed with Janis Joplin, Humble Pie, and Jefferson Airplane to name a few.
