UPDATE: Maui police have located missing man

UPDATE: On 11/15/15, Ignacio Rivera was located and is in good health.

On 11/15/15 at about 3:03 p.m., a family member reported that Ignacio Rivera (89), of Kahului, did not return home after going to church. After church, he walked to a friend’s house along Makali’i Street in Kahului. Rivera was last seen walking away from the residence towards Kuihelani Highway by the friend.

Rivera’s family began looking for him, however, were unsuccessful. This is when they called for assistance. Police and Maui Fire Department’s Air 1 checked along Kuihelani Highway and the cane fields as well, but, were not able to locate Rivera.

Air 1 suspended their search, but, will continue again tomorrow morning.

Rivera was wearing a Hawaiian print polo shirt and a pair of blue pants.

The department is asking the public for any information that may lead to Rivera’s whereabouts.
